Last week, since I was the “dominating” (Read: My mother is a major control freak) force behind the execution of the Show and Tell project, this time around, S decided she would provide with the creative idea and I would ONLY help executing it.
When it was time for us to plan the project, S thought for a bit and said – The sky is blue and so is the water (such profundity leaves me astound), I’ll make the swimming pool, with me in it, with my float). Now I love crafts… but such detailing scares me (especially since she added that it should look like the pool, but madam was adamant and raised doubts on my skill… MY SKILL… Where has the time gone, when she thought i could walk over water???
SO anyway we got started, I gave her a cardboard box and some grey paper (since the pool she goes to has grey granite) and told her to cut and paste. I dumped in some thermacol and a doll (representing S with some pipe cleaners twisted into a tube float). All that was left to do was tear up blue crepe paper and stick it.
Yes yes i do know it looks tacky
S takes one look at this and asks - where are the trees??? and what about the pool chairs and the umbrella. They can be so demanding at 4, I am definitely dreading 14.
So we redid it:
Boy am i glad she is demanding!!!
And the WIP:
Again… the only thing left to do was stick on the blue paper…
My happy trooper
